PSM Hockey Academy Coach Spotlight Series: Kaleigh Schrock

Behind every great player is a coach who believes in them. At PSM Icehouse, our coaching staff is dedicated to building not just better hockey players, but more confident and capable individuals. In this series, we highlight the people who make that impact every day on the ice.

Coach Spotlight: Kaleigh Schrock

Head Coach | Fort Wayne Spacemen NCDC
General Manager | PSM Icehouse

At PSM Icehouse, player development is built on structure, accountability, and a commitment to getting better every day. That standard starts with Kaleigh Schrock.

As General Manager of Hockey and Head Coach of the Fort Wayne Spacemen NCDC team, Kaleigh leads a high-performance environment focused on developing complete players and preparing them for the next level.

What stands out most is not just his experience, but the way he leads. Kaleigh brings a genuine care for his players, creating an environment where athletes are pushed to improve while knowing they are supported as people first.

From First Steps on the ice

Kaleigh’s introduction to hockey started in a simple and relatable way.

“My first introduction to hockey came in first grade when my teacher handed out a list of activities that included ice skating.”

From there, his path followed a full development journey through youth hockey, junior levels, college hockey at Neumann University, and professional hockey with the Fort Wayne Komets.

That experience gives him a unique understanding of what players need at every stage, from learning the game to competing at higher levels.

A Coach Who Invests in His Players

Kaleigh’s approach to coaching is rooted in growth, trust, and accountability.

He holds players to a high standard while building relationships that allow them to succeed both on and off the ice. Players are expected to work, stay focused, and commit to their development, but they are also supported every step of the way.

“What I love most about coaching is the opportunity to teach the game and be part of a player’s growth.”

That mindset shows up in the way players gain confidence, develop habits, and begin to believe in what they are capable of achieving.

Developing More Than Skill

At PSM Icehouse, development goes beyond skating and puck skills.

Kaleigh emphasizes the importance of daily habits and personal responsibility. Players learn how to take ownership of their progress, build consistency, and approach the game with intention.

“Great players have the right habits. Sleeping, eating, training, and finding ways to improve away from the rink.”

It is this focus that helps players separate themselves and continue advancing in the game.

A Culture Built on People

What makes Icehouse Hockey stand out is the environment created by its staff.

Kaleigh leads a group of coaches who bring different experiences, perspectives, and strengths, giving players access to a well-rounded development model.

More importantly, it is a culture built on respect, encouragement, and accountability, where players feel supported while being challenged to improve.

Moments That Matter

For Kaleigh, the most meaningful moments come from seeing players succeed together.
“Jace Lacey’s overtime winner at home to secure a spot at Nationals.”
Moments like that reflect the work, trust, and commitment that go into building a strong team and a strong program.
