ABOUT THE ACADEMY
Our mission is to create a culture where hockey training is more than developing quality players – we will maximize individual potential on and off the ice. Our goal is to produce athletes that are committed to excellence in academics as well as athletics.

EDUCATION
Our goal is to produce athletes that are committed to excellence in academics as well as athletics. Student athletes will secure an education that compliments the academy schedule. Local options include Indiana Connections Academy (online); Academic Conservatory at Project Ballet; and Strides of Hope, as well as other homeschool options.
The Elite Hockey Academy will start September 2, 2025 through April 23, 2026 – Mondays through Thursdays.
ATHLETIC FACILITIES
We are dedicated to individual skill progression, self-discipline, teamwork, personal growth and exposure. Skaters will benefit from detailed instruction from experienced coaches and also learn how to develop their skills during their free time. Practice includes a consistent weekly schedule of on and off-ice training including foundational skills: puck, shooting, skating and edge work, in-game hockey concepts, performance training, professional and individualized coaching and player assessment. Our experienced and well-networked staff also ensures players receive optimal exposure in preparation for college.

COACHING STAFF

Anthony Petruzzelli is a current Komet player that specializes in Skating and Puck Skills. Anthony played 4 years at University of Vermont NCAA D1 and is now entering his 7th professional year as a player.

Preston Ray – Preston is the current hockey league manager at SportOne Parkview Icehouse and has been working with skaters of all ages as a skills and development coach since 2019, a USA hockey referee since 2017 and former college hockey player and graduate of IPFW.

Jared Lamothe – Jared is an Assistant Coach of the Fort Wayne Spacemen. He was the 2017 Mr. Indiana, played two years of Junior Hockey with Islanders Hockey Club (USPHL), and played 4 years of NCAA D3 Hockey at Johnson & Wales University.

Cade Murnan – Cade played in New York with the Jr Sabres AAA and was drafted by the OHL and USHL. A former Skate Great powerskating coach, he also assisted John Tucker in skills & development training at Xtra Ice. Cade uses his exposure to a wide range of philosophies to incorporate them into on & off ice development.

Parker Rutherford – A Fort Wayne native goaltender who’s played several years of junior hockey, Division I hockey, and is currently playing in the minor-professional leagues including a stint with the Komets. Parker has also been involved in the coaching side of goaltending learning from other great coaches for the last 10+ years and enjoys working with all ages and skill levels.

Cam Wirick – Cam is the current Hockey Director at SportONE Parkview Icehouse. He is the Head Coach of the Fort Wayne Spacemen Elite team and has been coaching for 4 years. Cam is a former NCAA hockey player with a passion for player development.

Hannah Picotte – Hannah is passionate about fitness. Hannah has coached for over a decade at several different facilities in the area and owns a fitness company called Moveful Fitness LLC. She assists local hockey teams with conditioning and flexibility and has been the Komet’s yoga instructor for almost a decade.
