Skate Like a Champ offers two ways to experience camp:

OVERNIGHT CAMP
Enjoy the complete residential camp experience, including five nights of campus housing at Purdue Fort Wayne, meals, transportation and nightly activities.

Skaters sign in Monday and sign out Saturday.

DAY CAMP
Participate in the full daily Skate Like a Champ training experience without overnight accommodations.

A parent or guardian is required to sign the skater in and out each day.

Need some flexibility?
Overnight campers may stay with a parent for a night during the week if needed. Advance notice is required, and the skater must be signed out and back in each time.

Skate Like a Champ brings together intensive on-ice training, off-ice development and access to accomplished coaches, technical specialists and officials.

Campers will work on:

  • Jump technique and edge acceleration
  • Skating skills and quickness
  • Spins and choreography
  • Interpretation and performance
  • Strength, conditioning and body awareness
  • Creativity and movement

Wednesday: Officials Day
Skaters receive on-ice critiques with technical specialists and officials, plus educational sessions designed to help them better understand scoring, performance and execution.

Campers will stay at the Purdue University Fort Wayne campus in four-bedroom apartments and take part in organized activities throughout the week.

CREATIVITY ON ICE THE WEEK ENDS IN THE SPOTLIGHT.

Camp skaters will bring together what they’ve learned throughout the week by creating their own 1.5-minute program for the Creativity on Ice Skater Exhibition.

Skate Like a Champ camp groups are based on each skater’s level and jumping abilities.

Skaters must be 8 years or older
