"Hockey has always been about more than the game itself," said Kaleigh Schrock, General Manager at PSM Icehouse. "It's about the relationships you build, the families you meet, and the way this community shows up for one another. Some of our most meaningful days at the rink aren't championship games. They're the days we come together to support a cause that's bigger than hockey."
Rolling for Rowan
Earlier this summer, PSM Icehouse hosted the Rolling for Rowan Roller Hockey Tournament, bringing together teams from across the region for a weekend of competition with a greater purpose.
The tournament supports Remembering Rowan, a Fort Wayne nonprofit dedicated to helping families who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. Through financial assistance, resources, and compassionate support, the organization helps ease the burden during some of life’s most difficult moments.
While the games filled the roller rink with energy and competition, the weekend was ultimately about something much bigger. Players, families, volunteers, and supporters came together to raise awareness, celebrate Rowan’s memory, and help other families facing unimaginable loss.
Events like Rolling for Rowan remind everyone that the hockey community has a unique ability to rally around those who need it most.
Looking Ahead: The Play Like Bray Memorial Game
That same spirit of community continues later this summer with the 4th Annual Play Like Bray Memorial Game.
Held in memory of Braydin Lewis, the event celebrates a young athlete whose passion for hockey, positive attitude, and love for his teammates left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
More than just a hockey game, the evening brings together players, coaches, families, businesses, and community members to celebrate Braydin’s life while raising funds through sponsorships, donations, and a silent auction.
Every ticket purchased, every auction item donated, and every person who walks through the doors helps continue Braydin’s legacy while supporting future initiatives inspired by his love for the game.
